Last year “Together for Water” met with such success from the point of view of the children, their parents and the educational team that it gave us wings to dream of going even further… Take “one step more”, means to continue our programme of educational workshops using our own manual and our accumulated experience. So this year we will continue to work with the three schools from the past and we have chosen six more schools so that more children and more communities will be made aware of the importance of safeguarding our most precious natural resource: water. Confucius said, “If I hear, I forget. If I see, I understand. If I do, I remember.’ That is why we have developed simple, entertaining experiences to enable the children to understand the possible consequences of our actions on nature and our environment. 1,170 children aged 7-11 from the schools Quince de Agosto, Otto Hubbe, Elias Jimenez, Jose cubero, Los guido et Nino de Praga, Andres bello, el Carmen and Alajuelita en San José, will discover the problems linked to water and so in turn will be able to benefit their communities. The worshops itselves are given by SURA : it is a group of environmental professionals who have great experience in environmental education, who develop practical and dinamical programs towards youth to make them conscious about natural conservancy. Together for Water, One Step More” has enrolled in the decade of international action 2005 - 2015 decreed by the UN to underline that water is “the source of life”. This has been made possible by the financial assistance of the government of Andorra (Cooperació Andorra, Ministry of External Affairs) and that of our generous donors; they have followed our work and continue to support us.
