  Protection of nature

INTRODUCTION:
Randy was born in the heart of Corcovado on the Osa peninsula in Costa Rica.

In that country, nature is the queen: the exotic flowers and trees are exuberant. We must protect this biodiversity because it is fragile.

But take care, although nature is beautiful, she has her rules and Randy can help you to know them.

Nature is not a consumer product and our discoveries must be respectful of the plant and animal species.

LOOKING THE PLANTS:
It is easy to see the great trees and the flowers around you because you can get close to many of them, but take care, because some plants can sting. Do not pull leaves off them and take care not to step on them.

WATCHING WILDLIFE:
In order to merge with the surroundings, do not wear bright colours and do everything possible to prevent your scent being wafted around by the wind.

Be quiet and above all patient.

Watch the animals with binoculars so as not to startle them, as some of them could become defensive and could hurt you.

IF YOU HAVE ONE ACCIDENT:
If you cannot move or if you suffer an allergy, you have to call the emergency service or get someone else to call them.

Explain clearly where you are and what has happened. Above all, keep calm.

FIRST AID:
Don't ignore small injuries because, depending on your surroundings (rain forest, salt water…), they may go wrong and be difficult to heal.

Carry a first aid kit with plasters for blisters and scratches, etc., a disinfectant, a cream for insect bites and a repellent.

A venom extractor could be useful if you are stung by a bee or bitten by a snake.
