A backyard can be considered as:
1. A real laboratory with plants, bugs and habitats.
2. A place to observe human effects on nature.
3. A small mirror of the world
4. Is reachable and free
5. Is the recognition that nature exist around us and that we’re part of it

Activity

We evaluated the creativity level of the teachers, asking them to create questions based on a square meter of the schools backyard.

To generate questions, they must apply observation, curiosity and science basic concepts. From the questions they created they plan investigation subjects.

Once they did this, they go back to the class and received the methodology, which explains how to develop investigations and the tools they will need.
They also received how these  methods can be applied to develop formal education (Education Ministry Programs).
When the methodology concepts are clear the group is divided and they start their investigation.
Then they expose their conclusions and how the investigation they made can be applied to their classes.
