From waste to art
This day we continued last week process. We blend the paper we left soaking last week and formed pulp. With metal molds, fabrics and paper we created recycled paper.
Kids enjoyed and explored their creativity through color and texture techniques we did to create different papers.

This day we worked with the information kids had wrote in their paperbacks, they made a map with all the information they needed for a new garden such as: places where the sun is better, existing plants, and other useful information.

Vegetable garden and organic fertilizers
The kids made a sign with the kind of waste worms can eat and took it to the dining hall so the ladies in charge can separate and keep the waste for the worms.
We also explain the kids how they have to feed them and take care of them.
In the second part of the workshop we made a brainstorm to decide what kind of vegetables we are going to have in our garden.
In El Carmen and Andres Bello we started the cleaning process in the spots we selected for our vegetables garden.

Waste management and proper garbage disposition
1)    Provisional signs: we noticed that none of the schools have signs indicating where the garbage must go. Kids made provisional signs and put them over the garbage containers.
2)    Activity discussion: we made a debate about what kids think of the garbage problem inside the schools, they conclude that the main problem is after the brakes.
3)    Homework: we asked the kids to create a logo we can use to identify the recycling group of the school.

Murals

Concepcion School: we proceed to prepare the wall we choose to paint; we used white to cover the old painting that was there before.
Then we painted the frame of the mural, here each student got a spot to paint. Kids were demanding more space to paint, that´s why we spoke to the principal to see if she allows us to paint in other spots of the school.

El Carmen School:
kids painted here some tables and benches, they created different designs over them. Painting keeps the kids focus and thanks to this they created beautiful and refreshing designs: gray benches in the beginning colorful benches at the end.

During this day there was order, attention and specially passion to paint, kids were happy.
