The kids were divided in two work groups:

1- Environment inspectors
Armed with rubber gloves and plastic bags the kids walked through the entire school to pick up any garbage. For almost two hours they clean the school.

At the end they put all the bags together to see how many of them the collected and make a reflex ion about the amount of garbage inside and around the school.
These were the results:

Concepcion school: 13 bags
Juan Alvarez School: 6 bags (kids collected the garbage from the surroundings of the school)
Andres Bello School: 8 bags (inside and outside the school)

Kids were surprised with the amount of garbage they picked; maybe they just never pay attention to that detail.


2- Environment decorators

With plastic bottles, paintings and imagination these group made amazingly beautiful ornaments for the school.

These ornaments have a double purpose because besides making the school looks better they can be use as feeders for butterflies and birds. The kids learned techniques we’ll be using next year.
