From waste to art

Concepcion

With plastic
bottles kids cut different shapes of butterflies and painted them. All these
art will be part of the school: in tires, bottles, signs, etc.

El Carmen

Using the paper
kids made in previous sessions they made cards for their fathers as a gift for
“fathers day”

 

Andrés Bello

As part of the
integrative work we’ve being doing kids made maracas for the waste management
group. We used plastic bottles, paint and rice. Some kids also made a card for
their fathers.

 

Restoring gardensatelier 18

Objective: To
plant in different kind of pots

We kept
planting in different areas of the school always reminding the kids the
importance and function of each plant.

For this
session we used other kind of pots, kids from waste to art made us hanging pots
from plastic bottles, which we hang from the trees.

 

Vegetable garden and organic fertilizers

Objective:
Transplant medicinal plants into pots

We showed the
kids that we could keep our plants without a lot of space and also keep them
healthy and nice and even move them in case they need more light or water.

We transplant
different medicinal species and put them close to the tires from last session.

We also plant a
special grass in one side of the garden to avoid erosion.

In El Carmen we
also used some pots, we prepare the dirt with the parents help. We filled the
pots and put them around the tires.

 

In Andres Bello
the kids made their own pots, others take care of the transplanting. Then we
put signs, with the kid’s promise of taking care of them.

 

Waste Management and proper garbage disposition

 

Concepcion

1)   We finished painting all the trashcans, kids were glad with their work.

2)   Kids invented a song about recycling which will helps us for the campaigns. What we are looking for is a sticky song so the rest of the kids can learn it too and remember that inside the school is a group in charge and concern about the waste Management.

1)   Logo and song: we choose the logo and gave the kids 30 minutes to create a song to use in our campaign.

2)    Locating signs: we went out of the classroom to put the signs over the trashcans.

 

Murales

For this day Conel was sick so his kids joined other work groups.
